Probly you know submitting sites to famous directories increases the site page ranks which helps your site. There are lot of important directories and you may ask why only DMOZ ? DMOZ is world famous directory managed by Humans.  It is very popular and Google gave a pagerank of 8. This is the only directory with such huge page rank.  Site which checks backlinks checks ‘dmoz’ listing as first option.  Listing your site in dmoz increases your search engine rank as well.

You have to keep in mind that it may take weeks, months to get listing into dmoz directory as it is maintained by humans.

Let us see how to submit your site to DMOZ.

#1. Go to dmoz.org

#2. Select your best category

#3. Select sub category ( Dont select your category and sub-category just like that, these two steps are important, as I told this is not a automated system. Humans will check every submission before giving a link)

#.4.  Once you selected your category and subcategory.  Click on suggest URL, right side top corner

#5.  Fill the form and submit.

As I told before result may come in weeks or months. If your site is really good with content and if they feel that your site is really worth listing in dmoz. They will accept your submission.

DMOZ Editors are always sleeping. If you want your site to be approved at DMOZ, you need to apply for an editor and if you are selected, then please let me know because I will also submit my blog to it.

Those DMOZ editors are sleeping the whole day long. Since years some directories were not updated.
